Watch the 3-minute video to fully understand the power of SEO Alerts.
Types of alerts
You can set up many types of SEO alerts. Some examples include:
- If Total Clicks to your entire site drop under a certain value.
- If the Average Position of a specific keyword drops under a certain value.
- If the Average CTR of a Page URL drops under a certain value.
- If Total Clicks to a group of pages reaches above a certain value.
Apply filters
It is possible to limit the scope of your alert by adding filters. If you don’t do this, we just look at the totals for your entire site. Supported filters (we plan to add more):
- Keyword contains word…
- Keyword is exactly…
- Page url contains…
- Page url is exactly…
- Device is…
- Country is…
Choosing a time-frame
By default, we look at data for the last 7 days available. You can change this setting to a value between 1 and 90 days.
Choose a short time frame if you want to be informed immediately.
Choose a long time frame if you want to prevent short-term volatility to easily trigger your alert.
Regardless of your choice, we will still check the alert every day for the last x days. In case of a 7-day timeframe, assuming a 2-day delay in data availability, we will check Monday to Sunday on Tuesday, and Tuesday to Monday on Wednesday.
Testing your alert
Before setting up an alert, it is suggested to test it first. You can quickly do that by clicking the test button in the alert creation form.
As long as your test returns a green message, you are good to create it. A red message indicates that the criteria are met already or that we could not find any data based on your filters.
Alert emails
Once the conditions of your SEO alert are met, we will immediately email you. It is also possible to send alerts to any of the other users that are part of your organization in PowerSearchConsole.
It triggers only once
Once your SEO alert has triggered, it will be disabled by default. Otherwise you would keep getting the same email every day.
